  • Oversees all trade execution for Van Eck and specializes in constructing macro analyses with respect to commodity markets; also investment team member of our flagship hard assets fund, Van Eck Global Hard Assets Fund and Van Eck VIP Global Hard Assets Fund.
  • From 1989 to 1995, a trader in Eurobond and emerging market debt for Standard Chartered.

  • Joined Van Eck in 2005.
  • Serves as senior analyst focusing on energy; also investment team member of Van Eck Global Hard Assets Fund and Van Eck VIP Global Hard Assets Fund.
  • Prior to joining Van Eck, an energy analyst covering U.S. oil and gas exploration and production companies at Petrie Parkman & Co.
  • From 1991 to 2001, covered North American, European and global energy companies out of New York, Australia and London with Goldman Sachs, Lehman Brothers and Credit Suisse First Boston.
  • From 1987 to 1989, an exploration geologist at Tenneco Oil Company.
  • Chosen as Wall Street Journal’s “Best on the Street” for exploration & production stock selection, 2000; recognized as one of the “Best Up and Comers,” exploration & production sector by Institutional Investor’s All-America Research Poll, 1999.
  • Authored several technical geology articles published in periodicals such as the American Association of Petroleum’s Geologists.

  • Joined Van Eck in 1996 as precious metals mining analyst.
  • Currently portfolio manager of Van Eck's gold funds and member of the hard assets investment team.
  • From 1992 to 1996, a Senior Geologist at Pinson Mining Company where he managed the on-site geology department, and conceived and implemented a comprehensive exploration program on a 35 square-mile land position. His primary responsibility was to find new gold reserves that could extend the life of the mine.
  • From 1988 to 1992, a Mine Exploration Geologist with Pinson Mining Company where he planned and supervised up to 30,000 feet of exploration drilling per year.
  • Prior to 1988, an Exploration Geologist with Lacana Gold Inc., Reno, Nevada.

  • Prior to joining Van Eck, worked as managing director and senior equity research analyst at McNicoll Lewis & Vlak, responsible for establishing their metals and mining research department, with a focus on undercovered and undiscovered precious metals companies.
  • Previously covered the gold mining sector as equity research analyst at Barnard Jacobs Mellet USA and BMO Capital Markets.

  • Prior to his current role, worked at Van Eck as a summer associate, 2012.
  • Prior to joining Van Eck, held an MBA internship as a venture financial analyst working with startups in the mobile, tech, and entertainment industries at Pulse Advisory.
  • Earlier career experience includes equity trader for Opus Trading Fund; FX dealer for FXCM and fixed income broker at Hennion & Walsh.
